3 Major Life Events

In the past month, three of my closest friends have each gone through a major life events.  First of all, my friend Aminata got married!  She was officially married back in May, however, the party where she moves in with her husband was just a few weeks ago.  Leading up to the party I got to attend a morning of planning the meal, where to do the henna and who would braid her hair.  I also helped move all her stuff over to her new house and set it up--a job done by her female relatives and friends.

The day of the actual party we spent about 10 hours hanging out with Aminata, partying with her friends and family and accompanied the group that brought her to her new house to be united with her husband.  For the full details check out Chantelle's blog:

A few days later, Fatima turned 18--okay so here that's probably not a major life event but it does mean she can vote and there is supposed to be an election coming up...

And lastly, my friend Annina gave birth to a little baby boy named Achmad.  He's adorable!  Her final ultrasound showed that the cord was wrapped around the little baby's neck and so she was given a C-section right away.  She's healing well and the little boy is in good health.  After hearing all the negative statistics regarding childbirth in Niger, I am very pleasantly surprised that everything went so well for her.  Praise God for a sweet little boy and a happy mother!
